No results on my search

“I Can’t Find the Address”, “Address not found” or “No results on my search”

Our address database is built using only addresses that are officially recognized and deliverable by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to make sure it’s accurate and up to date. This means every address in our system is a real place where mail can be delivered.

We do this so our users can trust that the addresses they’re working with are valid and confirmed. If an address isn’t listed by USPS, we don’t include it in our system—because we can’t be sure it’s a real or deliverable location.

There are multiple reasons why an address may not come up in our database.

Address may be misspelled

  • Sometimes the way the street address is provided to you may be misspelled or the street has abbreviations. Do not copy/paste an address in our app. Always start typing the address in our search widget, the “type ahead” will provide options and make sure you choose from the drop-down the address for which you are searching.
  • Google maps has its own address algorithm and does not necessarily mean it is a match with USPS..

It’s a manufactured/modular/mobile

  • Some counties don’t record them as real estate, they may be recorded with the DMV.

Address may have different abbreviations

  • A common error we find: People use different abbreviations to write an address. The same address may be abbreviated in diverse ways while being recorded in official documents differently. You may need to try some variations of your search to find the way it was officially recorded. If you know the parcel number, try searching by parcel number in our APN search widget.ie. Same address/Different abbreviations:

240 Hwy 22E

240 LA-22E

240 State Hwy 22E

Street may change names

  • Another common error is that a street may change names: i.e: Main St, becomes Centre St. and some people may choose to record their property under Main St, when officially the street in a parcel map is known as “Centre St” so, try both options you may find what you need. You could also use the Maps & Photos tab and find out if the address is showing up with a different name or if it is an intersection where one street “changes” names or zoom in on the map to see if there’s more than one street number in the building, then try searching by the other number.Try typing the address in slightly different ways. Sometimes writing the full words “South Main Street” instead of “s main st” makes a significant difference!

Sub-divisions not recorded

  • In commercial buildings properties are sub-divided but not necessarily approved by zoning or recorded. Use the Maps & Photos tab and zoom in and “walk around the building.” You may find other streets are attached to the address you are searching.
  • Newly constructed homes or subdivisions that have not yet been fully registered or provisioned by the USPS. A local postmaster must confirm the establishment of delivery routes and mail receptacle placement and formally assign the address within its Address Management System (AMS).

Try searching via Parcel Number

  • Sometimes a Property address may not be the official address recorded in the records.  This happens on commercial properties or multifamily units, wher they may have a delivery address, main office or front door address, but the official/situs address may be different. Searching via APN may be more accurate, since it will cover the entire parcel.

Try  “Reverse Owner Lookup”

  • If you know the owner’s name, you can search the person and it may provide the historical addresses, then you can click on the address you are searching.
